Our camping guide for the state of Texas would not be complete without covering the beautiful Texas Gulf Coast. There are miles and miles of sandy dunes and beaches along the gulf coast. This region is renowned for its wildlife and natural beauty. You can relax on South Padre Island, stroll on the seawall or pleasure pier in Galveston, or explore Corpus Christi. All the coastal cities offer unique attractions, sights, and food.

Goose Island State Park

Goose Island offers opportunities for camping, fishing, and birding along the St. Charles and Aransas bays. You can fish from the shore or along a fishing pier.

South Padre Island National Seashore

Beautiful undeveloped beaches and natural undisturbed habitats are what you will find here at the National Seashore. They also do sea turtle releases that are open to the public.

Galveston Island State Park

Stroll the beach, splash in the waves, go fishing, have a picnic, relax and enjoy the beach!

Quintana Beach County Park

Fishing, swimming, beachcombing, bird watching, and two historically significant houses are located inside the park.

Sea Rim State Park

5.2 miles of Gulf shoreline and 4000 acres of marshlands where you can swim, fish, hunt, and kayak or paddle in a canoe. You'll find an abundance of life at the beach and the wetlands.

South Padre KOA

Campground amenities include a 25-meter swimming pool, hot tub and sauna, Wi-Fi, a snack bar, and pavilion.
