On The Move With MOT: State Fair Edition

Events

It's finally here — the State Fair of Texas has officially landed in Fair Park! The Texas State Fair has been around since the late 1880s and is just another event that fills Texans with pride.

Tickets and Admission

The best deal for Dallas locals is the season pass at $45, which gets you into the park every day, a ticket to the concerts at the Chevrolet Main Stage, and discounts for you and your friends/family. General admission tickets are also available online, and group family packs provide admission for 4 people plus food and ride coupons. Look for discount days and donation opportunities at the gate to save even more.

Events and Concerts

The State Fair features a free concert series with performers like Rick Springfield, Daughtry, Big & Rich, and Billy Ray Cyrus. Other free events with admission include an all-star dog stunt show, Big Tex's Farmyard, Home on the Range Barnyard, a Starlight Parade, and much more. College football fans can also enjoy games at the historic Cotton Bowl stadium, including the Red River Showdown between Oklahoma and Texas!

Fair Food Highlights

You can't talk about the Texas State Fair without mentioning the delicious food! Alongside fan favorites like corn dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy, the Big Tex Choice Award Winners showcase incredible fried creations including a fried taco cone, sweet Big Red chicken bread, and a fried mango twist served with strawberry mango sorbet.
