Texas Blueberry Festival
For over 30 years Nacogdoches has welcomed visitors from all across the country to its annual Blueberry Festival! This blueberry inspired event is the only state-sanctioned festival in all of Texas — over 24,000 people flock to Nacogdoches to take a bite into this fun filled weekend.
Friday Night Kickoff
Get into town on Friday evening to enjoy a bluegrass concert from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Festival Plaza in Downtown Nacogdoches. This family-friendly entertainment features local bluegrass acts including Catahoula Drive, the Purple Hulls, the Jeff Robertson Band, and El Camino Real de Nacogdoches.
Saturday: All Day Blueberry Fun
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the heart of Downtown Nacogdoches, enjoy all things blueberry!
- Blueberry 5k Run/Walk — Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. Only the first 300 people can participate, and t-shirts are given on a first come, first served basis.
- Mr. and Miss Blueberry Pageant — Kids and teens from babies to 22 years old put on their best blueberry inspired outfits and wow the judges with their stage presence and talent.
- Pie Eating Contest — Competitive blueberry pie eating for all ages.
- Blueberry Cupcake Battle — Amateur and professional bakers bring 6 cupcakes for the judges to try. Winners in each category receive amazing prizes.
Family Fun and Entertainment
- True Blue Pet Parade featuring four-legged friends dressed in berrylicious costumes
- Shopping from over 100 vendors
- A unique car show
- Kids zone with obstacle course, petting zoo, and splash/bounce park
- Fresh blueberries, blueberry pancake breakfast, barbecue, and a soda and sweet shoppe
