How To Winterize Your Motorhome - Part 2
Motorhome winter living and traveling both require one simple thing: Preparation! We want you to enjoy your motorhome in the wintertime and stay safe and warm, so we are bringing you Part 2 of how to winterize your motorhome. This post will look at a few more ways to prepare your motorcoach for winter.
Windows
Windows are one of the ways the heat can escape your living space. Consider adding additional insulation through one of the following methods: foam insulation boards, bubble insulation, or solar blankets. To provide even more warmth you could line your windows with heavy weight thermal curtains.
Pipes, Battery, and Plumbing
Some of the most important machinery in your RV can also become some of the most vulnerable during the wintertime: the pipes, battery, and plumbing. An RV skirt can be an essential help for winter camping in cold temperatures for an extended amount of time. An RV skirt provides wind protection, insulation, tire protection and undercarriage protection, making it a wise investment.
Slides
Another thing to consider is how ice and snow can accumulate on slide out awnings, preventing the awnings from sliding properly when it's time to go. A simple and easy way to prevent the buildup is to clean snow, ice and frost off the awnings regularly.
We hope these tips help you to stay comfortable and warm as you take your motorhome out this winter. Please share any winterizing tips you have and don't forget to tag your travels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Happy winter travels!
