Tips and Tricks: Saving Space inside your Motorhome
Tips and tricks to utilize and save space inside your motorhome, and solve common household issues like losing your remote and keeping items from sliding off the counters.
- Save space by using an over-the-cabinet-door wastebasket for the bathroom. Use square and rectangular storage containers instead of round ones — they sit next to one another and take up less space for maximum storage organization.
- Use Velcro on the backs of your remotes to keep them in one place. You can even Velcro your remotes to the side of a cabinet to save counter and drawer space.
- Display calendar events and fun photos on the inside of a cabinet door with Command strips for quick access to important information. Add Command hooks to the inside of your kitchen cabinets to hang pot holders or other kitchen accessories.
- Prevent cracking and damage to your fridge door's rubber seal by cleaning it with a mild cleaner, letting it dry, then smearing a small amount of Vaseline on the rubber to keep it pliant for a tight vacuum seal.
- At the end of a trip, empty all the ice from the ice maker bucket right into the commode! The ice will eliminate build-up in the black tank before melting, without the use of extra chemicals — and you'll have fresh ice at your next destination.
- To keep items from sliding on countertops, use clear silicone sealer (not adhesive silicone) on the underside of those items. This trick can also be used to bond non-skid mats to decorative rugs or a welcome mat.
