No matter what size, style, or age your RV might be, no matter how well you care for it, some part or another will need replacing at some point. We here at Motorhomes of Texas want to help you prepare for those maintenance emergencies in advance, so we’ve put together a few of the basic spare parts you’ll want on hand, below. For the Water System

Running water on the road or at the campsite is one of the main draws of owning an RV, so make sure you’ve got some spare parts to keep the system functional. You’ll need parts for the pump like impeller kits and an overhaul kit, and you should bring some spare thermocouples in case the water heater stops working.

For the Electrical System

And of course, electricity is a vital part of modern daily life and is another finicky system you should be prepared to fix. Bring plenty of spare fuses in case you blow or trip a fuse on the road, which is easy to do since RV electrical systems are less sturdy than residential ones.

You’ll also want spare bulbs, and not just for interior lights. Spare headlight, tail light, and brake like bulbs are a must so you aren’t driving around in the middle of nowhere without signaling your location. Just make sure to bring bulbs of the right kind, size, and wattage for the fixtures in question.
