Tips and Tricks: Useful ways to use common products
Tips and Tricks with Linda. Here are some ways you can use common products for more than their original purpose.
Vaseline is a wonderful invention. Not only can it be used medicinally for soothing chapped skin or lips, it keeps many seals in and around your motor coach lubed. Did you know if you put Vaseline in the microwave oven it won’t melt?
Also, Irish Spring bar soap (original) placed around your coach and even in the bays, in its opened box, will deter bugs. Replace, when all scent has depleted.
The only thing more slippery than a bar of soap are these roads under a 34,000 pound motorhome. Depending on the time of day and the amount of rain, you might find yourself with wheels as slick as Vaseline. Drive safe when you’re out on the open road, especially easy-to-flood back roads, and make sure to look both ways and turn accordingly.
Traveling our great country for many years in a Foretravel, the site of roadside crosses marking the death of someone’s loved one, troubled me. It prompted me to develop a heartfelt prayer I recite each and every time I pass a cross. It took numerous versions until it felt right. I settled on the following prayer:
"Dear Lord, Please comfort their loved ones, left behind, with the knowledge that they will all soon be reunited with You, in Heaven, Lord, where there is no pain, suffering, sorrow or hatred. Only, love, joy and peace forever, Amen." If you find comfort in these words, I encourage you to make them your own.
