Spring is almost here, and spring in Texas means wildflowers everywhere! While the Texas bluebonnet is one of the most anticipated and iconic signs of spring there are many other flowers that bloom during the spring season. The Texas bluebonnets may bloom as early as February, but March and April are prime months for seeing beautiful blooms all over Texas.  In honor of spring we’ve rounded up some of the best places to see beautiful blooms in Texas, don’t forget to pack a picnic and bring your camera!

Brenham 

Having an annual photo taken in front of the bluebonnets every year is a rite of passage for Texas Babies, and Brenham is the best place to see them! The city of Brenham even hosts a “bluebonnet festival” every spring.  The 2020 bluebonnet festival is set for April 18th and 19th and you can learn more at https://chappellhillhistoricalsociety.com/bluebonnet-festival-2020/ but you can enjoy the bluebonnets throughout March as well. If you enjoy a lengthy scenic drive, you travel along the Washington county bluebonnet trail. Don’t forget to grab some bluebell ice-cream while you're here!

Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg

Wildseed farms have been in the business of growing flowers for over 35 years and are one of the nation's largest working wildflower farms with over 200 acres in Fredericksburg. They also have a vineyard and tasting room. During peak blooming times there is a $5 charge for entering the meadow. Texas Tulips – Pilot Point (North of Dallas) and San Antonio

The Koeman family began growing tulips in Holland over 40 years ago. In 2011 they relocated to Texas where they found the perfect combination of fertile soil, country charm, and nice weather during the spring season. They are the first blooming tulip field in Texas. Nacogdoches Azalea Trail 

With over 7,000 azaleas Nacogdoches is home to the largest azalea garden in Texas! The best time to visit the Azalea Garden is from mid-March to mid-April. Don’t forget to travel along the Azalea Trail- 25 miles through beautiful residential and historic districts.
