Colorado has a lot to offer visitors and campers - the breathtaking mountain views, sand dunes, forest and scenic valleys and Colorado is home to most of the Southern Rocky Mountains and has a number of scenic high-quality RV parks hidden away. We wanted to round up some of the best places to camp in Colorado to inspire your travels this summer.
- Red mountain RV Park, 24990 CO-184 Dolores CO, 81323. (970) 749-6489, https://www.theviewsrvpark.com/ An outdoor dream with a large variety of activities available within just a few miles. The Kremmling area has so much to entertain like fly fishing, water sports, and fossil hunting. This is the perfect camping spot to us a home base while explore all Colorado has to offer.
- Great Sand Dunes Oasis, 7800 Highway 150 North Mosca CO, 81146 (719) 378-2222 http://www.greatdunes.com/camping.html
- This is a unique park located on the side of the San Luis Valley. There are unique attractions here like sandboarding and sand sledding! The park has a gift store, laundry facilities and restaurant onsite. (This site isn’t far from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. Most national parks only allow day visits at this time.)
- Garden of the Gods RV Resort, 3704 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 https://thedyrt.com/camping/colorado/garden-of-the-gods-rv-resort
- This RV resort is located just south of the exquisite Garden of the Gods park and lies an hour and Half away from Denver and just minutes away from Colorado Springs. You can rock climb, explore the trails and enjoy the many amenities the resort offers: water hookups, WiFi, restrooms, showers, phone service and pets are permitted.
- Winding River Resort, Winding River Resort is located in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, https://www.windingriverresort.com/
- Just north of Grand Lake and located in Rocky Mountain National Park, this location is on all the lists for proximity to the hiking, climbing, fishing, opportunities offered at the national park right at your doorstep. The views are worth the cost of the night.
- Rifle Falls State Park Campground, https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/RifleFalls/Pages/Camping.aspx Located in Rifle Falls State Park is a picturesque escape with waterfalls, limestone caves, hiking trails, and fishing areas that lie alongside the East Rifle Creek. - This park is called “an oasis in the plains” for good reason. For swimming, boating, fishing and water skiing. They are open for camping but the laundry facilities are closed.
- Stagecoach State Park, 25500 Routt County Road 14 Oak Creek, CO 80467, https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/stagecoach
- A year-round camping destination located in the lush Yampa Valley near steamboat springs. The 820-acre reservoir provides renown lake and river fishing. The summertime is also the perfect time to visit and enjoy all the watersports at the reservoir.
